A nice, wide open course, with small mountains as a panorama, quite a few lakes, plenty of rollercoaster fairways with a few trees in the way, and with a more challenging back 9. You will start your round with the pretty downhill right dogleg par-4 opening hole, and its panoramic view, before moving on to the tough right dogleg par-5 2nd, with a tee shot flying above medium rough and landing near some trees in the corner and a blind and uphill second shot to get close to the green, unreachable, barring a miracle... Then, after the left dogleg par-4 3rd hole, where you will need to hit an uphill tee shot followed by an downhill approach to the green, and the downhill par-3 4th, with a tiny pond on the right side of the undulating green, you might be able to get an eagle on the left dogleg par-5 6th, slightly uphill all the way, before finishing the front 9 with the par-4 9th hole, and its sloped fairway and elevated green, slightly to the right. If the front 9 has some interesting holes, the back 9 is prettier and tougher, starting with the scenic right dogleg par-4 10th hole, downhill all the way and with a big bunker in front of the green (and a lake on the far left), and continuing with the par-3 11th, with a green set on a high mound (and a big rock on the right side). The left dogleg par-4 12th is another pretty hole, with a tee shot above an elongated lake (on the left) landing near another lake on the right, and is followed by the tough dogleg par-5 13th, bending sharply to the left, with an uphill tee shot and a steeply-downhill approach toward the green, with trees on the left. After hitting a blind and uphill tee shot over trees to reach the undulating green, set on a plateau on the par-3 15th hole, you will have to make sure to hit your uphill tee shot away from trees on the right side of the steeply... downhill slope on the left dogleg par-4 16th to have a clear shot at the green beyond the lake; if not, then you will be lucky to escape with a par or a bogey... One last eagle opportunity awaits you on the left dogleg par-5 17th hole, sharply to the left, with two shots over a big lake, “split” by a nice small bridge on your way to the green, before completing your round with the left dogleg par-4 18th, and its steeply-elevated green. Overall, with its realistic look and water hazards, this par 72 is fun to play but you will have to hit some pretty good shots on your way back if you don’t want to see all your earlier efforts go down the drain !
