I wanted to get back to you and tell you everything is ok now. The TW 08 Caddy beta works fine now and I was able to install all the files whether courses or libraries. Here is how I corrected it
After installing the Caddie 08 I installed it and placed the icon on my desktop. Then I right clicked on it and went to properties compatabilty and clicked on "run as administrator". That was the first step
Then I went to TW08 coursedownloads on the web and picked out a course to download and libraries for that course. Each library file that had a red X next to it I downloaded to my PC by clicking "save" I had to download each one separately. I also downloaded the one Course the same way by clicking on it and choosing save. That was easy
The hardest part was to figure out where they were saved to on my PC. I found them all in C:\Users\Ronald.Cybertron.PC\Downloads So there they were. Then I opened the Caddie 08 program on my desktop. I began by clicking on INSTALL in the libraries section. A new pop up window appeared showing all the library files I had downloaded the file libraries into. I then DOUBLE CLICKED on each library folder and the Caddie program immediately installed each one into the TW 08 PC game. After the libraries were installed I then installed the one Course file the same method as the library folders, but this time I chose install in the above section named installed courses. That folder also installed fast. I then closed out the Caddy 08 program on my Desktop and started up my TW08 PC game with my fingers crossed. And there was the course. Man, did that bring a smile to my face. IT WORKED!
I want to thank you for sending your instructions. Without your instructions I would never have figured it out. All my best to you Gunpower

Hello Ron, that is very good news.
Also don t forget to do the confidence folder fix on your player, it is a very important thing to do.
There is a bug in the TW08 game, all members should do this fix.
When you played some courses you will see the loading times between holes are increasing, the game will become slower and slower.
Do next steps to solve the problem:
1) On desktop you will see the folder My Documents. Open this folder.
( when you are using Vista or Win7 or Win8: on desktop look for folder: User (or username).....inside you will find: Documents )
2) Inside Documents look for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008. Open this folder and then open the folder Career
3) Inside Career open the folder Players. Inside this folder, look for your playersname folder and open it.
4) Open the folder Confidence.
5) Inside you will find these files: Hole Type.tcn and Shot Type.tcn. delete both files.
6) Important step here! Restart the TW08 game and play 1 hole on any stock course, then close TW08 game.
7) Go back to same Confidence folder and you will see both files are regenerated: but now they are very small in size. Now right click the Hole Type.tcn file and choose Properties. Check the box next to Read Only and click OK. Now do the same thing for the Shot Type.tcn file. |
